We are proud to have supported the creation of a beautiful community mosaic at Sandwood Care Home, Sherwood.
Over the course of three months, residents, families, local volunteers and artist Anna Dixon worked together to create a beautiful piece of artwork celebrating nature, community and connection. The mosaic also marks the 70th anniversary of the Abbeyfield Living Society, recognising decades of support for older people.
What makes the mosaic especially unique are the personal touches contributed by the residents themselves, including their handprints embedded within the design and a portrait of one resident’s beloved pet dog. These individual elements ensure the artwork tells the story of the people who helped create it and will remain a lasting reminder of their involvement.
It was wonderful to see the finished artwork officially unveiled by Amanda Farr DL, Deputy Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, and to witness the pride and enjoyment it has brought to everyone involved.
At VISAV, we’re passionate about supporting projects that bring people together and make a lasting positive impact in our local communities. We are proud to have played a small part in helping this inspiring project come to life.
Congratulations to everyone involved, and especially the residents whose creativity and enthusiasm are reflected in every piece of the mosaic.
